Considering the film was on here very recently in the UK and it is still extremely fresh in my mind, thoughts and comments on his appearance in this movie.

That was very one interesting discussion LOL!! The film in parts was very slow going but the range of actors in it helped a great deal. It is a good story about family and had many aspects discussed in it.
War, Homosexuality, Age Gap relationships, Teenage Pregnancy.
Mostly, it was handled pretty well in that respect and I particularly enjoyed Joe's performance as Lionel. As he went through accepting who he was and forming a relationship to getting cast out by his father and practically blown off.

We could of killed his dad through most of it!!! but it was good. It tackled some great issues very well.

Yes, it showed how they all managed to get through their different problems and become the people they turned out to be. Especially the youngest daughter who was so shy at first and ended up this out going girl who started nailing her friend's father, how out going can you get?!

Yes I liked how they did the flashbacks with the children, helped set it up like the oldest was daddy's little girl and you could see that in it, the youngest shy and obviously the lads fighting and in parts you could see Lionel taking a real dislike to his dad.

I really not a drama fan,,but since it had Joe in I just had to see it,,so I bought the DVD... I have to say it told the different aspect really well,,even at times I was like yawning and wondering if it wasn't over yet *lol* but Joe made up for that..he did a good job with his character Lionel. When I watched this and saw the movie was from 1994 I think ,,it was like wow that was like 12 years ago,,and he's only 27 in it,,but he was really gorgeous and he still is mighty fine and sexy today at age 39... But for an drama that is not my genre this was a good movie all in all since it deal with the variety of topics

Yes I can understand your view on it, I am more into actions movies with pounding and people getting caned LOL so it was a change for me too and yes I am the same, I only watched it for Joe LOL! Maybe ratings for programmes would be up if people just watched them for the actors then most sci fi ones would be going strongly!!! Yes I am aware I got a little sidetracked there but its all good

I think I wouldn't have watched half the things if there wasn't someone in it I wanted to see. Sometimes it even turns out a surprise because I realised that I would have enjoyed the movie even if one of my favourite actors weren't it, funny how that works out
